I went with this ornament for my inspiration. I colored the image with Prismacolors and blending with gamsol. I'm using a new stencil for the bg..it's a Greetery one where you have 3 stencils and do different colors with each one...for this effect I used 2 colors, 1 color used with 2 of the stencils. I like how it looks....will need to play with it a bit more. TFL!

Awesome job with the colored pencils. Love the realistic look of the cardinals. I'm just glad they are one of the birds that does stay for the winter. TFS

Dear Polly - I do believe I learned something new from your card - I had never considered that a female cardinal might have more basic brown rather that red plumage. - it does make sense though. I must be hungry because your multi-step stenciling in the bg makes me think of a lattice crusted pie with cherries peeking through the openings - bring on the holidays cause this is a super card.
