Marianne (lantana) is this week's Featured Stamper, and her gallery is just beautiful. I chose this beautiful card of Marianne's to CASE: WT491 Sail Away by lantana at Splitcoaststampers. I loved the simplicity and elegance of her card and that it was a masculine card. I used scrap DSP instead of that gorgeous stenciled background, and I used a lighthouse instead. I kept the coloring very muted too.
I also made this card for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge- my heart truly goes out to Lisa and her family during this difficult time. Pat is our hostess and she chose "Tag It!" as this week's theme. The center panel is small enough it could be a tag. I honestly could not come up with a card until I saw Marianne's beautiful card, then I was able to make this card.
Enjoy your week in the spotlight Marianne, and thank you for the great card idea too. ~Karen.

I like your kraft and black color combination and that dsp is striking and the perfect background for your lighthouse!

Wowsers on that background paper. It gives such an elegance to your beautiful colored lighthouse. This will be a wonderful card for Neil. So happy to see it in your gallery, my friend!

If it's ok to call a masculine card beautiful, then this is a beautiful card. The herringbone dp is perfect both for it's masculinity and as a counterpoint to the lighthouse image. That stamp is so lovely and picturesque and it does evoke a feeling of calm and security. Wonderful card for Neil.

I have to say light houses are very special to my aunt and uncle. My grandma (my aunt's mom) loved light houses and was buried in Michigan by a red light house. They will absolutely love this card. Thank you so much for taking the time to make them a card and send it. It means the world to me that my crafty friends are trying to bring them some smiles.
