Lisa is our hostess this month and we are helping Margaretha celebrate her 102nd birthday - find out all about it HERE...and put a bow on it. Originally I created a 3D bow with the punch board to use on the spanning panel, but realised it would get squashed in transit.
I was curious to try the recent Spanner Panel Card. To give some special celebration feel I used a gold base - and it's a bit wider than A2 because I didn't actually check the piece of card I pulled from my box thinking it was a regular card base. And having cut the two borders, I wasn't going to waste it. Anyway, it turned out to be a good size to fit my little kitty on the bottom layer.
I used some acetate under the gold mesh to give body - there's some glare from that in the photo but in real life it's much less obvious. I added one butterfly visible on the centre panel, and another hidden one to be revealed when you lift the top layer (top left photo). Top right photo shows the bottom layer. Sentiment is from LOTV, and I added a little die-cut bow after ditching my dimensional one in favour of another sentiment. I admit I found it hard to understand the tutorial and was nearly going to watch the video, but once I understood it, it made sense and I think I'd definitely make this again.
