This is my card for the Alphabet challenge's final letter of this round - Z. I used last week's sketch challenge to create this card.
I knew I wanted to do zzz's for sleeping and I wanted it to be a Christmas card. I looked for a free image online of a sleeping Christmas elf but didn't find any in black and white. I did find a cute one and, rather than try to draw the whole thing, I decided to use Awash with Flowers to create a female Christmas elf sleeping on this candy cane.
I first cut the focal panel to go with the sketch challenge layout. Then I stamped the Awash with Flowers outline and filler to create her dress. Then I drew her head, arms, and legs (don't look too closely, an artist, I am not!). I drew the candy cane and colored the image with Copic markers, outlining with the Copic fine liner pen.
I inked the embossing folder with Real Red ink and ran the panel through to get this striped background. A strip of green dp behind the focal panel, a fussy cut poinsettia for one of the shapes, the punched sentiment for the other. Oh, I did switch where those two elements are to go better with my focal image and they are both popped up with dimensional tape.
Thanks for the challenges and thanks for looking!
