I was able to use this beautiful Jar of Flowers card by holley smith (this week's Featured Stamper) to get a few challenges done (don't you love when that happens):
I used her sketch but shifted my banner to the top instead of the side, made my dp using a stencil as a stamp, and used sunflowers in a bucket instead of her pretty flowers in a jar. Check out Holley's card as it is beautiful!
I stamped my flowers 4 times and cut them out in different ways to get a fuller basket of flowers and so I could pop up some flowers to make it look different. Each time I watercolored the image, I restamped it in the MISTI to redefine the lines. I also added a bit of black to the centers to make them pop more.
Can you believe the WCW challenge is on its 17 week - boy time flies. The backgrounds are done doing a monoprint after my first attempt did not work as planned. The bottom was done with the paper only being slightly wet and the top was with the paper being really wet - I was experimenting lol.
This was also inspired by this picture from this week's really fun inspiration challenge site, reshot:
I liked the lines of her blinds and could't find my lines stencil so used my plaid one instead. I see a bunch of sunflower pictures on the inspiration site that make me want to do something - I may do this one on a BAJ page:
There is a wonderful sunflower field near here that allows picture taking - next year I am going!!!!
Congrats Holley, your gallery is super cool and I love your blog. My favorite creation is your combination BAJ card and BAJ page of course - I tried to case it but it just didn't work out. I may do a BAJ page to match this card though.....
