The Clean & Simple Challenge, CAS603 - Ducks in a Row - September 14, 2020, was to feature a duck, goose or feathers on your project.
I couldnât locate any ducks in my ginormous selection of stamps (unbelievable! Iâm still looking..) I do, however, have a shameful number of geese, so thatâs the direction I went with this challenge.
This goose is from one of my all-time favorite SU sets called Wetlands. I was lucky enough to be able to secure a matching die from Dies by Dave many years ago and I was delighted to be able to use it again for this card.
The goose was stamped on a watercolor color friendly Bristol cardstock, so I colored it with my Zig watercolor brush markers. Iâve discovered that I donât have the finesse to color directly onto the paper with the Zigs, the colors go on unevenly and I canât get them to blend. To get around this, I brush the zigs onto an acrylic block and pick up the color with an aqua brush and apply it to the image. It takes longer to build up color, but it saves me from having to start over with a new image.
The goose was diecut and placed on top of a dry embossed grass panel mounted on granite grey card base. I finished off the card with a simple label diecut and tucked a knot of SU linen thread in back of the goose to mimic dried grass.
Thanks for popping in to look at my Goose in the Grass. I really appreciate it!
