For this week's Free 4 All challenge, found HERE we are celebrating September Splitcoasties and their blue birthstone, sapphires. Our challenge to you is to make a card/project where the main color is blue OR make a card with your own birthstone color and tell which month.
It seems an age since I was last capable of making a card and joining in at SCS. I know these feelings will pass - eventually! Thankfully Robin's F4A team forward plan each months theme, so I was able to make this card several months ago.
This nautical creature is a clear stamp by Pink Ink Designs, stamped onto copy paper, then coloured with Prismacolour pencils, Zest it pencil blend and a colourless blending pencil. After adhering her to the background using a glue stick, I added a gazillion birthstones aka liquid pearls and Stickles, extending them passed the image and onto the background.
On the package she has a beautiful serene and thoughtful look on her face, so I was somewhat surprised that she had a very different expression once on the card- who knew sticking her nose one degree higher would have such an effect. I am very pleased about this though, it feels like I got two stamps for the price of one LOL.
Now that she had lost her serene look I had no idea what sentiment to use, until a friend said she was absolutely exhausted at how stupid people can be. I had a light bulb moment and remembered I had a stamp that said the same sort of thing (thank you Susan One4Joy for the RAK).
The background is a result of cleaning a stencil and left over acrylic paint (using my fingers) on a piece of polypropylene paper that protects my desk.
Thanks very much for looking and happy birthday to all the "Sapphire" splitcoasties. Stay safe.

Well, this is one blue card that certainly doesn't make one blue! It has far too much life to it! Your work is so impressive with the liquid pearls and the coloring. You are amazing as is this wonderful creature, who has clearly been dealing with some of the people I have seen doing things lately.

Oh my goat! That sentiment is hilarious, and your coloring is off the charts amazing, Susie. Awesome background and love all the bling you added, plus the pops of red! Beautifully done!

Stunning card! And, as always, amazing work. I love how you used the liquid pearls....
I went through a few months where I couldn't make a card at all. (after about 15 years of making cards. I feel so much better since I started again.

I just keep looking and looking at all the jewels this fine lady is showcasing! Susie, your sparkling lady is superb, but your background featuring your very own finger tip impressions really wow's me! Thank you, Susie, for leaving such kind comments in my gallery!!
