Started this yesterday, finally finished, except for a sentiment.
This is for today's WT-a day off; Joyce Ann's DTGD20; yesterday's WCW-watercoloring on stamps and the sketch.
When one is retired, every day can be a day off. Sometimes one even forgets what day it is. I know, I'm lucky. When I was a kid, on Sundays, we would go for a drive into the country, stop at a few antique shops, especially in the fall. One of my favorite things to do on weekends now is go to an art show, have some apple treats while there; sadly, none of those shows are happening.
WC on stamps is harder than it looks. Debbie makes everything look easy. This stamp set is a solid and outline combo, I did cheat and use the outlines to give them more shape. I did a little painting with a brush onto the paper to try to get more variation of color. The background is many layers of the Distress ink, trying to get sort of a parchment look. I cut the panel in half diagonally and layered on top of some green mirror cs. I cut the leaves out of various scraps of mixed media projects and a piece of coppery paper. Splattering with bronze acrylic finishes it; I think I'll add a sentiment in the upper right eventually.

I am in agreement with you! This technique looks easy but I found it challenging as well! It's worth the work though! I love your watercolor stamping and your die cut leaves are lovely! Great job combining challenges! Oh, I would love to go to an art show and have apple treats with you!

Very lovely leaves and colors on your card. Oh to visit an art show would be amazing. I agree many are closed but I heard that one in Fishers, IN is going to do a virtual show this weekend. I might need to look it up. Thank you so much for playing along.

I didn't look at the WW challenge, (no time, I know my practical limitations these days) but I remember trying to use my Twinkling H2Os for stamping with and that certainly was tricky to get the thickness/thinness just right. Lovely choice of stamp to use with the technique. What a great selection of leaves, too.

Your watercoliring turned out great...it is one technique that I just can never get to work for me. I love the look of watercolor and I wish I could work with it. The addition of the leaves are the perfect touch. So fun to read about your childhood adventures.

Cool stamping and colors, Jean. I love to stop by antique stores on drives - such a great adventure. Sad all the shows are cancelled - will make us appreciate them more after we all get the vaccine and things open up again. Lovely card. hugz

Where to begin. This is amazing. I love all of it, from the splatters to the die cuts. It is amazing and your colors complement each other beautifully. Nicely done. TFS!
