Snietje aka Anita is hosting this weeks teaparty at the suggestion of Kathy Flynn (an SCS newsletter reader). Kathy's friend Tana had a bad fall after trying to rescue her cat from the roof.
Tana loves flowers, silly animals and the colour purple. We are still in lockdown in my little corner of the world, so I don't need much encouragement to go shopping online. I googled "silly animal images"...there are heaps!!!
I bought this fun image from HettyClare (a few other images may have slipped into my shopping basket too). I don't usually look online to see how something has been coloured, but I was a bit stumped with the horse. I shamelessly copied the faintly coloured spots on the horse - no point in reinventing the wheel hey.
The image was printed on to copy paper, coloured with Prismacoloir pencils, Zest it pencil blend and a colourless blending pencil. Before fussy cutting I gently wiped a walnut stain distress ink foam blending tool over the image.
The background is from the terrific SCS tutorial "Outdoor Backgrounds" by West Aussie girl, Elizabeth Whisson. I did the sky and clouds as per the tutorial, I added Prismacolour pencils in the grass, as I didn't have quite the right coloured Copics.
After adhering the image to the background using a glue stick, I outlined everything with a T4 grey copic. This helps add a bit of dimension, but more importantly it helps disguise any little bits of dodgy fussy cutting - just run the marker on the image and the background.
Thanks very much for looking and I hope you get a chance to send paper hugs to Tana. Stay safe.
