It's National Kitten day and National Pina Colada day (who knew). Our Free for All challenge this week is to be inspired by one (or both) of these two national days.
I have taken my inspiration from National Pina Colada day and created some festive fun using a Craftin Desert Diva digi image. I resized the image 3 times, coloured with Prismacolour Pencils, Zest it pencil blend and a colourless blending pencil. After fussy cutting, I adhered the festive unicorns to the background.
The background is a by-product of me practicing all the fabulous Watercolour Wednesday challenges. When ever I have inky puddles or watercolour paint left over, I use regular carstock to mop up the mess (I have a huge collection LOL).
To add some extra festive fun, I added dots using my new Jane Davenport "Ladybug Dotter". They are ink filled markers that create dots in various sizes, depending how hard you push. To give a bokeh effect I dipped my little finger in diluted white paint and gently put my finger on top of some of the bright coloured dots to give a muted effect.
I wouldn't rush out and buy these markers for my card making, but they are great fun to use in my art journal (the weirdo journal, not the nice one). I have learnt my lesson with craft consumables - use them or loose them. I have a graveyard of products that have dried up, clogged up or seized up! What about you?
I hope you get a chance to join us and have some inky fun. Stay safe.

Now that is a fun festive card, fabulous colors and love the touch with the feather too!
Recently I went through my pens and markers and tested them and throw out everything that wasn't working. Thankfully I had more that still worked then didn't but I do have more room now

Oh, sis, this is absolutely darling and vibrantly happy with the colors! I have been looking at it and got the conga tune in my head with the words, "Chica, Chica, Chica!" Haha! Mexican piñatas are what I see. These are beautifully colored, and the background is fabulous with your "signature" doodling to finish it off along with that stunning feather! I agree with Linda -- made me smile seeing a happy card in the gallery! Love you to bits, sis! xoxo

Susie, this is outstanding! Such a fun card. I love your festive background and colors. Love that feather. No one can be sad when looking at this. You know there is one thing missing though, right?
