Dr Sonja, welcome to hostessing the Sketch Challenge! I loved your first sketch and while I veered off course, I do have all your basic elements. I've long loved the comic pages and still daily save it to read last. When I saw the 4th of July Mutts, I knew it was destined to become a card.
The quote by Gerald Stanley Lee spoke to me so deeply. "America is a tune. It must be sung together"
I used Judikins people background stamp inked with Adirondack 'Red Pepper' on glossy paper. The comic strip was mounted onto heavy white cs. I used two circle dies cut from SU cs to accentuate the circle element. The black panel was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, 'Allegro'. I added the Artistic Outpost' Flag for the triangular piece.
The header from an old hymnal was torn out and used at the top of my card. Here's a link to . I'll bet you'll be singing along with him till the end and feel his joy. We so need to be singing together, don't you think?
Thanks for stopping by...

Love your harmonizing message. It's sorely needed in this fractured country. I'd love to see this as a huge banner flying in every corner of the country! You have such a gift for providing meaningful messages, Sis!

Love that you used a comic strip to make a card and get the point across, Susan. I love music, it gets me going and makes me feel good inside. Lovely card....I especially like the hymnal's title at the top and our beautiful flag~
