This week we were asked to use unexpected colour when colouring our image.
My Kangaroo has a touch of the same purple/wine colour I used the background in the shadows on her body. I think you can see it in the photo.
I stamped the Kangaroo on water colour paper with Archival Ink. Taped the panel down on my glass mat with painters tape to stop the card buckling when adding water and this makes it much easier to dry too. Created a water coloured sky and bush behind Mrs Kangaroo. Stamped and embossed the Kangaroo again with brilliance ink and coloured her using water colour pencils and a touch of the purple/wine colour in the shadows on her body. Fussy cut her out and layered over the background panel. I finished of by adding some stronger colours with gel pens to the grasses. I inked around the edges of the card with a Brilliance ink pad.
