This is for this week's Inspiration challenge. So glad I got to take part so early this time. This site is so trendy, but I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to pull off a tropical scene or not. Then I found this place setting and knew I could make it work. https://www.acottageinthecity.com/pr...49ac2f6c&_ss=r
I had come across a really cool card on IG just yesterday. I knew I wanted to make something like it. Did I save it? Nope! Could I find it again? Nope! But, I know I left a comment, so if they reply, I will give credit. She had done an amazing watercolor wash in Navy and had a delicate white die cut sentiment on top of the vellum circle. So, those all came from her ideas. I ramped mine up after seeing the pops of yellow and orange in the photo. I don't have any Granny CS yet, so I just blended some color onto white for my leaves. I think it looks better like that anyways to go along with the BG better.
I'm usually too lazy to tape down a watercolor panel ahead of time, but this time I did and boy did it make a difference. After I painted on the color I dried it with a heat tool and let it sit while I made the rest of the card. Nice and flat!!

Wow Michelle. What a fantastic representation this is of your inspiration piece. This is so striking and looks nothing like a place setting, and yet I see it in the design. Your watercolor background is so deep and rich looking and really showcases your gorgeous flowers so beautifully. I am really impressed with this beautiful card you made. ~Karen.
