I made this card for today's Ways To Use It Challenge. Lisa is our hostess and she had such a fun challenge called "Gels and Other Mediums" so I simply had to play along.
I also made this card for this week's Alphabet challenge for the letter F for Family of Deer and the Faux Silk Technique.
Applied Nuvo black glimmer paste to the Kraft card panel through a snowflake stencil, then set this aside to dry. Using the Wonderland tree stamp and black Stazon ink, stamped the trees on the left and right side of the narrow Kraft card panel. Took a piece of white tissue paper that is cut slightly larger than the Kraft panel I stamped the trees on, and stamped the trees on the front of the tissue paper so they line up in between the trees stamped on the left and right sides of the narrow Kraft panel. Applied a glue stick very generously to the narrow Kraft panel, wrinkled up the tissue paper, then unfolded the tissue paper and placed it in the glue, and smoothed it out.
Using white craft ink, stamped the snowflakes from the Wonderland set all over the tissue paper. Then took a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen and drew over the snowflakes I just stamped to add some shimmer to them.
Cut the trio of deer and snipped them apart so they are separated and added them over the tissue paper. Heat embossed in gold the sentiment from the Wonderland set. Then die cut it using a narrow rectangle die. I decided this was too "blocky" looking so I cut fish tails into each end for a banner look.
The top edge was looking rough so I added a line of gold peel-off stickers to give it a more finished look. I found some snowflakes in my stash that I had added glitter to using a Zig 2-way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter so adhered those to the card front for some more sparkle and shine. This card was very shy and absolutely did not want to be photographed today. The black snowflakes are very shimmery and the snowflakes on the front are sparkly so that made this card a real challenge to photograph, and it is too windy to get outdoor pictures today.
Thank you Lisa and Ann for the fabulous challenges today, and thanks for looking too! ~Karen.
