I have not ordered much from Ellen and it has been a very long time since I have. Holy cow, what have I been missing?? I love their website, so easy to navigate, so much inspiration. Heck, I could create all day. Heck, I sure could do that now, couldn't I?
I used two techniques-faux watercoloring and crafting with hexagons. The basic faux wc is tapping several colors of inks on your stamp, misting with water and stamping it on wc paper. I chose an SU stamp I hadn't used yet, it wasn't detailed or simple enough so all I had was a blob of colored water. Not to give up, I restamped it with the same inks but no water. Better, but still not great. So I dried that and then stamped on top with the Memento ink and really liked the look. Detail is there, plus all the colors underneath. I think this would be a pretty look for a late summer, early fall card. I also used my hexagon dies to create an opening and a frame. The frame part has four layers. As you can see, I cut it from my main panels and puzzled it back in. Finally, did some splattering.
Thanks, Stacy, for a great blog for inspiration. I'm in trouble.
