Ways to Use It Challenge Calendar Inspiration hosted by Carla
This is timely challenge here at the end of the month! I had purchase a large calendar for my stamp room; I thought it would be inspirational for card-making. Each month has a different, beautiful, crisp photo of flowers; the page for January is shown in the photo. I have been seeing this gorgeous bouquet of tulips all month long and I keep telling myself to make a tulip card. Here at the end of month, I finally did it. Thanks Carla for the nudge!
The tulips and leaves are two-step stamping. The tulips are stamped in two pinks and the leaves are stamped in first and second generation for the variance. I was inspired by the background in the photo to dab on white acrylic paint on the Smokey Slate card base. Two opposite corners are rounded and I added a few scattered pearls. This was made into a birthday card as a birthday is something you might find written on a calendar.
Terrific challenge! TFL

Diane, those pink tulips are so lovely! I love your idea of enhancing the grey card base with white acrylic paint .... subtle and very effective!
