I made this card for today's Ways To Use it Challenge. Sabrina has a fantastic challenge for us today called, "Taking The Rough With The Smooth."
The texture on my card is the embossing paste background with glitter on top of it. I need Halloween cards so I pulled out my spooky spider web stencil and my embossing paste and created this spider web background. When I pulled up the stencil after applying the embossing paste, I poured black glitter all over the black embossing paste, then set this aside to dry.
The cat is a solid stamp so I used purple because the gal I am sending this to loves the color purple and she loves cats. The cat is a solid image so I added some detail with a violet colored pencil because I do not have copic markers that match this color well. I added clear wink of stella to the spooktacular die, but it is impossible to see that here. The pumpkin is a layered stamp set so I stamped all the layers, then fussy cut it out. The "Have A" sentiment comes from a Christmas set. I heat embossed the "Have A" sentiment using black embossing powder on orange cardstock. The inside of the card shows a large solid flying bat that was stamped, and it has the scripty words "Halloween" showing through the black ink. Fun!
I am also entering this card into the Alphabet Challenge for the letter I for iridescent for the glittery background.
Thank you for this terrific challenge today Sabrina and thanks for looking! ~Karen.

Wow, Karen. That web is truly spectacular and must be so tactile with all the glitter. In contrast with it, your cat almost looks velvety with your pencil details. What a special card for your friend. I hope the glitter didn't make too much mess ;-).
