Polly is hosting this weeks TEAparty and we are sending paper hugs and positive vibes to Traci of MFT as she battles cervical cancer.
Traci loves animals so I thought I would give this sweet little fox an outing along with this terrific hanging treehouse stamp by Lavinia Stamps (a gorgeous surprise gift from helekins).
Polly has selected some great techniques for us to choose from. I have used the embossed resist technique and attempted bokeh by squirting water through a circle/dotty stencil.
The treehouse was stamped, then embossed with black EP. I usually sponge on colour from the bottom grass area working up to the sky. Because I wanted the house in the purple zone, I started at the top and worked down to the grass.
The background was done with Distress Inks and the Smack & Squirt blending technique (smack distress ink pad onto al foil, squirt on water and using a foam blending tool, scrub the inky water onto the cardstock, add a bit more colour without adding water where needed). Because the house was embossed, it was easy to scrub the coloured ink right over the top of it.
The big leaves at the top were stenciled on using black distress ink and a dauber. My attempts at the bokeh technique using water and a stencil were a bit dodgy, so I stamped over the entire card with a "text script" stamp. Doing this draws attention away from the big bald looking areas and makes it look like the big blobs were done on purpose.
Using a round blending tool I sponged on the moon and added some more foliage and the fence. The little fox was printed on copy paper, coloured with Prismacolour pencils and Zest it pencil blend, fussy cut and adhered to the card.
The sentiment was stamped onto black cardstock, then embossed with white EP; I have no clue what brand it is. I bought it years before I knew about SCS and long before I knew about the chances of being locked up in stamp prison for violating an Angel Policy. How cool would that Big House be LOL.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to inky this week and send some paper hugs to Traci.

I don't know what I love the most about this card-the sweet little fox with the colorful headdress or the fantastic background. All together it sure makes one stunning card, Susie. Well done, my friend!!

Saw this yesterday, didn't get the PC on till today. It's amazing, Susie. Your backgrounds/scenes always are. Love the wonderful weathered look to the fence, and the Liquid Pearls on the flowers. But most of all your little fox is just enchanting, she has me smiling again today.
(I would have fussy-cut and added my cat if it had been possible, but I'd been going for an one-layer card look before the mis-stamping, and that fiasco meant that even fussy-cutting and pasting another cat in would have made Traci's eyes water. I've got the bokeh area of the sky saved for something else).
