I made this card for 2 challenges. The first challenge is for this week's Featured Stamper who is Rebekah (luvtostampstampstamp). I had so much fun going through Rebekah's gallery and finally settled on this fabulous get well card: FF17UnderstandBlueA Feel Better by luvtostampstampstamp at Splitcoaststampers. When I saw the border along the left side, I immediately thought of these snowflake dies I got on a garage sale and have yet to use. I also really loved the colors in Rebekah's card.
The 2nd challenge this card is for this week's Alphabet challenge for the letter K. The K's in this card are the cable knit embossing folder and the kraft cardstock used.
This card took me on quite a journey. I think I tried just about every color I own, and could not make this card. I inked up the embossing folder with River Rock ink to highlight the knit pattern in this embossing folder, then I could not find a color that worked with this. I tried inking up the embossing folder in other colors, but did not like it. After hours, and I do mean hours (sigh), of trying to figure this out, I pulled out kraft cardstock and that was what worked the best. The snowflake die is adhered to a vellum layer that is adhered to the kraft layer. It is storming and blustery here so I think I am in a bit of a "meh" mood so that might be why I could not make color work today. No matter, this card was made because of Rebekah's fabulous inspiration card. Enjoy your well-deserved week in the spotlight Rebekah! Thanks for looking today. ~Karen.

Those beautiful soft colours are perfect for the comfortable looking knit! They make a great base for those delicate sparkly snowflakes. What a lovely card this is ...so glad you persevered!

It came out fantastic! The knit reminds me of oatmeal yarn. And the kraft is perfect-to my mind it is the same color family and using the vellum as a buffer bridged to the white in the knit pattern. I never would have known if you didnt tell me.
I am glad you wrestled this down to the floor. Beautiful!
