There are great challenges this week! It's almost officially Fall, all. This card covers 4 challenges. Over on the TLC, Lyn offered 'Stencil Smooshing' I used 3 different stencils, though when I used my TH Sizzix diecut leaves, the patterns were lost. I definitely want to have another go with this in a format that shows the stencil pattern. The CAS was Happy Fall! The Color Challenge has Mary using 'Curry & Poppies in my Pie', and the Sketch Challenge was one I 'artfully' stretched, using my falling leaves six on each side of the sentiment.
My stencil smooshing was the first thing I did. Lyn has linked a great video if you've never tried it. Stencil Smooshing. I cut double leaves so I could bring in the colors from Mary's CC. The color blocked sentiment panel was created by smooshing DO's in CC colors onto an acrylic block. I stamped the sentiment onto when the mixed media paper was dry. I added two styles of Washi tape, the black and white stripe and the black and gold floral across the top. The leaves are stapled in pairs. This mimics the Sketch Challenge six narrow panels.
I've always loved this sentiment:
she watched a leaf float to the ground and was reminded of her own life falling gently into place...at last.
and you know what? As seasons come and go, we are continually having our lives fall into place.
It's that rearrangement that reminds me change is good...no chance of moss growing under my feet!
Here's hoping you'll enjoy this glorious season.

Fabulous card. Love the variety of leaves. Terrific sentiment. I made my card for a friend who is experiencing a new season of life. This stamp would have been perfect for her. Maybe I'll write it on the inside? Back to your card. Love your arrangement. Nice to see staples used. The hint of stripes is cool. Great job!

These are some of the most beautiful and artistic leaves that I have ever seen on a card, and I LOVE leaves, especially fall leaves. I am beyond impressed and blown away by this card. Wonderful texture and dimension, this is absolutely great art! I wish that you had a tutorial to go along with this card. Favorited for sure, one of my favorites ever from fall, one of my all-time favorite seasons. Your coloring is FANTASTIC!!!
