I'm hosting this week's color challenge: Granny Apple Green + Call Me Clover + Real Red. With school starting, or under way for many, I thought plaid might be a fun dessert.
These little bugs are so much fun to play with and I couldn't resist trying them out with these colors. My bug is colored with the challenge colors in Blends Combos. After cutting him out, I layered him onto 3 more die cuts to lift him up a bit. The Buffalo Check plaid is stamped with Call Me Clover on Granny Apple Green. This gives it a little warmer look than if it was stamped on white so when I needed a contrasting vein for my die cut leaf I chose to sponge the Granny Apple vein with Call Me clover to get the same color of green. I highlighted the chewed up portion of the leaf with a little Crumb Cake ink applied with a sponge. This is a rather classic color combination to me: 2 greens with red along with Crumb Cake as a neutral.
The layout is similar to one I've used several times in the past with a twist to show off even a little more of the plaid on the right edge of the card. The red is just a skinny strip of Real Red card stock trimmed and added with glue.
I can't wait to see what you do with these colors!

Chris, your card is sooo cute with that adorable bug, nibbled on leaf and clever sentiment! Love the plaid with the clover ink on the granny apple green, it looks fantastic! I tried to find my same plaid stamp for my card but it's packed...somewhere LOL!
