This if for Robin's fun Free for All Challenge where we are to take our inspiration from a deck of playing cards.
Polly aka peeps321 sent me this cute image, on my favourite paper....copy paper. Using the terrific checkerboard floor technique by Irene, I coloured in the floor using a black micron pen. I then coloured the little mouse with pencils, Zest it and Copics.
I adhered the copy paper to a scrap of cardstock using a glue stick, making sure that the paper is completely covered (this prevents bubbles).
Once this was completely dry, I used a blade and ruler to trim the edges. I didn't have a diecut frame quite big enough, so I randomly inked around the edges with walnut stain distress ink.
I adhered this to the card base and then stuck on the scalloped frame. Even though the image is too small for the frame, by randomly adding the distress ink, it gives a 3D framed appearance.
I found a deck of cards that haven't seen the light of day in 100 years. I chopped out the corners and stuck them on the cheese.
The stenciled spots were originally yellow, but that was too bright, so I scribbled over each spot with a white paint pen.
To balance the floor, I added a little awning. Thanks very much for looking and I hope you get a chance to join in.
