The Teapotter Challenge this week is to make a card with your favorite non cat/dog. I am obsessed with penguins...way back in the day, we had Opus from Berkley Breathed 'Bloom County'. I fell in love with this slightly irreverent comic strip. I also loved 'March of the Penguins'. What dedication those papa p's show nesting the egg on their feet all winter long, while the females are out in the open sea bulking up on protein and trek back to feed the hatchling.
My scene has the penguins in various stages of leisure. I've got the snorkel ready small guy, the mama all decked out in her 'kini, with the German Scrap bra top, and a sarong from the Tropical Chic dp from Stampin' Up, and the surfer dude ready to dive in the deep end. His shorts are from an old Basic Grey paper 'High Line' which is old cassettes.
And another Basic Grey paper for the surf board.
I was having a hard time deciding what to do on the sky. But in the end, I sponged on the sunset with a combination of TH distress and oxide inks. It turned out rather groovy! The marvelous Technique Junkies group of palm trees is swaying those breezes.
I will enjoy visiting the gallery and seeing what my fellow Teapotters favorite animals are.
Thanks for sticking with me....
