One thing I knew for sure going into this challenge was that I didn't want to do anything with flowers! Then I got sucked in by these prints on the Ballard website.
I Spent WAY too much time trying a vibrant black ink resist that just wouldn't quite work today. Scraped that and finally opted for the softer look of the Black Magic technique instead.
I stamped a variety of flowers in frost white on black cardstock. once dry, I color with prismacolor pencils and added a deckle edge die cut to finish.

Well, I find your process is also often the the way for me as well, trying one thing, then setting it aside and going another direction LOL! I love what you ended up with, your colored pencil flowers are so vibrant and beautifully colored!
