Carla is this week's hostess for the WTUI challenge, I had great fun making a couple of cards for her challenge. I'd been wanting to revisit Lyn's embossed washi background - but when I'd made this panel, it certainly didn't work for what I had in mind at the time so it went into my backgrounds box. I thought it had an Asian feel which would go well with the fan, so I cut the fan from copper and backed each piece with vellum. Thank goodness for the Xyron X, another gift from Lorraine. Normally I use Mod Podge but that wasn't going to work with vellum. A brad holds the pieces together. I punched the corners and added copper eyelets. Sentiment stamped on the banner, which was sponged while still in the die. There's foam tape in the centre to add a little dimension, the ends are stuck to the card.

Gorgeous combination of elements, Sabrina! I somehow missed that washi background dealie-o, so I need to investigate it, for sure. It looks like a technique I might actually enjoy and DO!

This is just stunning Sabrina. I am sorry I missed this card somehow when it went through the gallery, but I sure am tickled to be seeing it now. This intricate copper fan placed against your bold bg is really striking, and so so beautiful too. I love how you used your brads here and did some lovely sponging on the sentiment panel. Isn't it interesting how we forget some of these wonderful techniques like sponging a die while it is still in the die (thanks for the great reminder on that too). This gorgeous card is just a feast for the eyes! ~Karen.
