This card is for three challenges;
Technique Challenge - Blender Pen Bleed found here TLC733 ~ Blender Pen Bleed ~ {3/11/19} by StampingQueenJAR at Splitcoaststampers
I first thought of using "Stays On" ink pads but wanted to do the colour challenge as well and had no stamp pads that would match so decided to try Copic markers instead. This worked perfectly however for the marker ink to transfer you need to extend the drying time and this is done by dabbing some alcohol based gell hand sanitiser onto the stamp then removing most of it before you apply the Copic pen to the stamp. I think I stamped the horse image about five times but you only need to apply the gell once. I cleaned the stamp and then did the same with the grass using YR23 for the horse and BG57 for the grass (it's blue grass of Kentucky lol)
Once this was done I flipped the image over to the back to use the blender pen but found I couldn't really see the image so got my light pad out and hay presto there it was. I also found that the blender pen by itself wasn't moist enough so I squeezed some blending solution into a tray and picked it up with the pen. I kept blending from the back until I was happy with the front image and that's it for this challenge.
The second challenge was the colour challenge hosted by Karen with some amazing colours and a wonderful card as an example found here 3/12/19 - CC730 - CRUSHING NIGHT PARADES DOWN ON THE BAY..... by Karen B Barber at Splitcoaststampers
the colours are;
Crushed Curry (I used YR23)
Bermuda Bay (I used BG57 for the grass and sponged using the SU ink)
Poppy Parade
Night of Navy
I stamped the quote in Night of Navy and then went over it with clear embossing (just because it's my thing) I punched out the quote and backed it with a fussy cut label then popped it up on some craft foam.
It was a bit stark left white so I added some soft sponging with the Night of Navy. I randomly stamped the horse shoe over the poppy parade card stock and then put it all together.
The third challenge and the reason for the horse is the Tea Pot Tuesday challenge - to make a card using the theme "Wide Open Range" found here; MMTPT555 ~ March 12, 2019 Wide Open Range by Shoe Girl at Splitcoaststampers
Here in Australia we call the "Wide Open Range" the "Bush" or the "Out Back" either way there are lots of wild hoses called Brumbies.
This card is going to a couple that love horses.
I've called the card Storm Boy because this proud boy is silhouetted by stormy clouds.
Thanks for looking and if you managed to read through these ramblings well done for persistence lol
Cheers Marg
