Jan is our hostess for this month's Tickle a Teapotter challenge. We're to be inspired by stories or fairy tales.
Well, a much-loved (by me) series was the Little Grey Rabbit books by Alison Uttley. When my mother operated a star chart for me, I got a crab claw on my crabby days (yup), and Little Grey Rabbit on the good days - and a book at the end of the month if I'd earned it. It was always so hard to choose which book - I never did get them all. Each year my mother used to make a new dress for me and my sister on our birthdays, and one year she made me a dress based on Little Grey Rabbit's costume. I loved it.
Anyway, I didn't use a rabbit on my card, I used a hedgehog. Stamped the image twice and most of the flowers are popped up on foam, as are a couple of the butterflies. I masked the image and sponged the sky. The embossed panel is another poppy field, and I used green for the base, earning extra cookies.

Oh gosh Sabrina, this is so charming. I absolutely love this little hedgie tempting these butterflies to come closer by holding a gorgeous poppy. How fun! I have never seen this EF you used here either and it works perfectly on this delightful card. I love that you shared how your mother gave you a crab claw or a little gray rabbit depending on your mood and how she made you dresses too. Those are fabulous memories. I have never heard of the Alison Uttley books you refer too here so I am going to look them up because I am very intrigued now. ~Karen.

Oh - Penny Black images are always just so sweet. I love the bright splashes of red in the poppies - makes this card so cheerful and uplifting. Yes there are lots of different types of gum nuts - from little bitty ones to huge ones. Love it on a hot day when you get to spell the eucalyptus scent in the heat.

This is one of my favorite hedgie images! I have a few left from when we were able to PIF images.
You did a wonderful job coloring! And love the added embossing folder!
