Thanks for a fun Teaparty Jen. Our cards are going to a school bus driver at the Lake Highlands Elementarty School in Dallas. The kindness of Curtis and his wife brought a bus load of Christmas wishes to lots of children and now we are showing them that kindness matters and we're paying it forward by flooding them with happy mail.
I downloaded a free colouring page of a school bus and coloured it with Copics and pencils. The card base is a Centre Step fold. Instead of bringing the centre forward, I brought the sides forward and recessed the centre portion.
The blackboard was made using black gesso, it dries with a great rough matt finish. I painted a full A4 sheet so I could have some in my stash.
I tried writing with a white crayon but it didn't stand out very well so Plan B was initiated and I went to my stash to retrieve some more blackboard card (yep it was still on top of the pile).
This time I used white Posca 0.7mm paint pen for the small writing and the big writing was done with a white water based Sharpie pen. I highly recommend the 7mm Posca paint pens, they are really dense, write like a normal pen and come in heaps of colours, including metallic.
The sides were covered with dp, the bus was fussy cut and then I scribbled white crayon onto my finger tips and smudged the blackboard. Job done...in record time!
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to send Curtis some happy mail.

PERFECTION, Susie,.....PERFECTION!!!!! Look this word up in the dictionary and you will see a picture of this exact card. WHAT??? You're skeptical? Try it.
Your cards really bless a person's life! I know Curtis and his family will especially enjoy this one. It will definitely stand out in the deluge of cards he will be getting!
Hope your section of the world is cooling off a good bit! Don't think I could survive very long with temps at 115 degrees. Our's has warmed up a tad....to actual double digits. Am seeing a few people running around in shorts....that's how we know who the crazy people are. It's still below freezing. Our "deep freeze" has allowed us to try out our survival skills though. A 57 degrees below zero wind chill will allow you to do that. That's the thing I found to be thankful for in all this. An awful lot of people have been without electricity for awhile. Oh!...we are SO spoiled.....and SO blessed!
Warm Wiggly Hugs, Ellen
P.S. I bet you are tempted to look up Perfection in the dictionary just to prove me wrong. Right? BUT...if you do, you will automatically "see" your card...in your mind...because you will be thinking of it in connection with the word. HAH! Have a Fun day and keep on creating smiles.

W H A T? This is said with my eyes popping out of my head Susie! My goodness, you thought of everything when you were making this personalized card. I love/adore the chalkboard centerpiece you did, but the personalized bus comes in a very close 2nd here. I have never heard of a posca pen before so I will be looking that up now (thanks for sharing this tip with us!). This fantastic card is going to bring tears to Curtis' eyes for sure. ~Karen.

What a great image you found for a bus driver. I almost used my bus die cut for a card for Curtis but I could not come up with a way to do the crayon element and I was afraid the water color would not come out for the bus. This chalk board is perfect to pair with the bus too. Curtis will love this card Miss Susie.
