Hello, sweet friends! Well, it's been a very long time since I've posted (or even commented). I've missed you all. On December 12, my DH had knee replacement surgery, and he is now walking around (and learning to walk better) and has one more week of in-home PT and then out-patient PT after that. It's been a long road, and I am exhausted. But God has been so gracious to us both in all His provisions.
Marcella Hawley has a new Instant Garden digital release, and I was delighted to find a couple of hours late last week to color. I hadn't picked up my Copic markers in over six weeks, so I was a bit out of practice. But isn't this the sweetest image with all the wonderful details? She is amazing!
I tried to use the color wheel to pick my colors, and it helped some. This might be a complementary or split complementary color combination, but I need more practice using the color wheel. I finished coloring, masked off the sentiment from Potted Primroses for the tag, and had already decided to use Rich Razzleberry. It didn't seem cohesive enough, so I decided to try out my new Life Changing Blended Brushes and used Scattered Straw to balance out the color of the pears (and give it a bit more warmth). I am still getting used to the brushes, but they sponge so smoothly. I matted the Rich Razzleberry on the sides only and adhered it to a white card base keeping it super simple. This card is for my dear friend BeckyTE who stayed with me all day and night when DH had his knee surgery. What a precious friend! I'm so very thankful for my wonderful friends here on SCS and miss you ALL so much!
Sweet friends, thanks for your prayers and thoughts for my DH and for me. They have meant so much to me. Hugs and love to you all! xoxo

Cheryl, what a beautiful card...such lovely coloring and shading...I don't see anything "rusty" about this wonderful creation. The color combinations are outstanding!

I think your coloring is superb, Cheryl!!! I love the palette you chose, and the Rich Razzleberry on the sides sets the main panel off so well. So glad to hear your husband is doing better. I've been thinking of you off and on. Take care, and I hope your energy returns fully soon!

WOW...........is this a work of art. I love it!!!!!!! Those pears look so real that I could just eat one right now. You are so talented my friend. I bet Becky's jaw dropped when she saw this card. We learned from the best (BeckyTE). I am the card maker I am because of Becky and I have told her that. I hope Walt is feeling much better.
Hugs to you my friend. Thanks so much for all the nice comments recently on my cards. You know I appreciate that so much.

Cheryl, another beautiful card. Your coloring is amazing. Happy to hear things are better with Walt. I know it is hard being the nurse, too. Take care and try to get rested up, my friend.
