A birthday card for my husband's good friend. My focus on this one was to make some inroads in completing more challenges for the Round 10 - Alphabet Challenge. I looked at several other challenges to see if they could add to my inspiration or ideas for my card that was already cooking in my mind. I found eight in all!
#1. ABC10S12, Alphabet - Round 10, Letter S/ bonus theme: sunlight - 11/14/18. This alphabet round focus is on using natural elements on your card...not man-made. I chose to focus on a "serene scene" and the "sun" found readily in nature, suggesting a sunlit day.
#2. IC670 - Inspiration Challenge, The Photo Argus - 10/6/18. Here is the link to a picture of Upper Cathedral Lake in Yosemite National Park, California, showing the mountain reflection in the lake with fir trees growing from the grassy meadow, as well as nearer the mountain side. I used these ideas in making my scene: Yosemite Falls Upper Cathedral Lake. It is the 5th picture down on the page about mountain photography.
#3. MMTPT524 - Teapot Tuesday, Let Your Love Flow - 8/7/18. Use the lyrics of the Belamy Bros. song shown as inspiration to make a card. I picked out the "mountain stream" and "sunshine sky" to focus upon.
#4. FS600 - Featured Stamper, 600 Challenges! D-Lightful! - 8/5/18. Browse the gallery of Dani Dziana aka Dani. I chose her card: FabFriday 11 - 2/10/13 for its layout and double fishtail sentiment idea, which I knew I wanted to incorporate in my card for sure.
#5. WT697 - Ways to Use It, Be A Happy Camper - 7/18/18. Use something you would take camping or see while camping. My mountain lake scene reminds me of our annual family camp trip to Mt. Baker Lake!
#6. CT0718 - Fan Club Monthly Themes, July 2018 Central Theme - Sun, Sand, Surf - 7/15/18. I went with the vacation interpretation of our mountain lake camping trips.
#7. F4A412 - Free for All Challenge, Memories - 1/12/18. Remember a wonderful moment or event...our annual August family reunion camping event. My DIL and I usually get to celebrate our birthdays while we are there.
#8. USEIT2018 - "Old & New Stuff" - yearly ongoing. I inked up my Waterfront stamp set for the first time since I bought it in January 2018!

This is such a beautiful mountain scene, Carlene. Lakes, mountains, trees, and a beautiful ball of sun looks like a wonderful place to camp.

Carlene, this is so Beautiful! Your use of colors is amazing here. I am simply enjoying all the dark, bold shades and 2 of them for your water. The splatters add so much fun to this scene and I'm impressed with your choice of dp for the bg~
