I am honored today to be guest designer for Loll's 11th day of her 12 tags of Christmas. I began by smooshing and splashing only part of my card in Adirondack inks leaving some white space. This is an unusual color combination I saw on Pinterest. While that dried I used Kitchen Sink Stamps to stamp the skates. These stamps are multi-step stamping and I was delighted to see this new release. I enhanced the shading a bit with pencils and did stamp the shadows a bit lighter than the recommended recipe. A stitching line was hand drawn on the skate around the eyelets and heel and pierced with a pergamano piercing tool. Hand stitched with a beading needle. Then set 16 mini eyelets and laced the skates. The brad was used for the hook that is usually on the top of a skate. I fussy cut the skate and used Cosmic Shimmer Silver watercolor paint for the blade.
Used Inkadinkado Flourish and heat embossed on the background. I had some Brutus Monroe Icicle powder and mistakenly thought it was white so the flourish doesn't show. Stamped the sentiment and heat embossed. Punched the pine sprigs from glitter paper and added some Tim Holtz holly die cuts from the same paper, arranged a wall decoration and hung the skates with thread. Nail heads were used in the center. I finished it off with just a bit of Frantage.
Thank you Loll for hosting this fun challenge for five years and inviting me to be a part of it! We've had so much fun with this.
Come join the fun for the final year of Loll's Twelve Tags of Christmas. You have until November 23rd to enter your tags so there is still time to play.
Thanks for stopping by.

Wow, Nancy, I am in "THUD" mode still after reading the details and all the wonderful "Nancy" touches to this tag. I've been MIA a bit in the gallery and absolutely LOVE this tag. The skates really do look real and probably do IRL with all the realism you've added with your handiwork. This is amazing and what we've all come to love about your work...the detail and exquisite workmanship, my friend! Absolutely amazing and stunning, and I love it! We all do. So glad you join Loll's annual tag event and delight us no end. Hugs and love, sweet friend! xoxo (Need to email you with some updates...lots going on.)

Nancy, it's me again. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but even I have worked out that you have TWO tags missing. I guess you just made the metric equivalent of Loll's TWELVE tags of Christmas. I'm missing you already!!
