Hello, sweet friends! I am delighted to guest design for The Card Concept Challenge #100, "Elegant Fall." Thanks so much to my precious friend Julie Gearinger for asking me to be one of her guest designers. I am honored and loved making this card. The inspiration photo is gorgeous, and I had fun being inspired by it. As many of you know, I am a complete tortoise when it comes to making cards. I selected what seemed to me the perfect image and started coloring (after I found some designer paper that I liked). The coloring was the easiest - haha! Then the "fun" comes with figuring out the layout and then cutting and making sure it all works. True torture??!! Well, not really, but almost. However, it's good to be challenged, and I hope you might join in celebrating this challenge.
After coloring the image, I decided to use an oval die - and carefully used my Krylon gold pen for the edges of the oval (you'll see why if you visit my blog to see the Inspiration Photo). I added a scalloped oval underneath using a piece of DP from the paper pad that I sanded the scalloped oval die cut for some texture. I matted the two pieces of DP, used my Mini MISTI for the sentiment, but it still needed something more. That's when I remembered a long-ignored Ornare piercing template that was inspired by the Inspiration Photo. I would say that perhaps this card falls into the Clean and Layered category. I still haven't really made it into the mixed media category - but there's always hope, right?!
Thank you so much for taking a closer look at my card. It's a joy to be a part of such an amazing, encouraging, and caring community here at SCS. I am so blessed by so many friends here - both old and new friends - and some returning friends! Sending warm, sunny hugs and love to all! xoxo

Ok, that's it........it's all your fault.....After looking at this gorgeous card you have enabled me to order this stamp set. I don't think you ever make an ugly card. Hope everything is going well with you. One of these days we will catch up with a longer, personal message. Take care my friend.

Such an elegant and clean looking card Cheryl! Your colouring is perfect. I noticed the piercing right off - so much fun. Beautiful gilded edge on your oval - so neatly done!

I LOVE the color scheme you used & the coloring on your pumpkins. Your card has kind of a vintage look to it. And I can totally relate to your struggles in choosing papers, etc. I feel the same way. Sometimes I just get frustrated and tell myself to just pick SOMETHING! LOL Guess we can be tortoises together. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful card!

Oh Wow! This is just beautiful! My favorite color is pink...so you know I love the colors in this card. I used to like to do piercing on my cards...I forgot all about that technique, it really adds to this card!
