Carla (Covington Crafter) is hosting the Ways to Use it Challenge for today, WT708. She asked to see music notes or instruments on cards. I love her challenge; it's a great one, Carla!
Carla's challenge gave me an opportunity to showcase one of my favorite hymns, The Old Rugged Cross. This song holds a special place in my heart and when I hear it, tears come to my eyes. Old hymns are my favorite music.
I have musical notes and an instrument on my card. I stamped the music for the hymn with VersaMark and onto a piece of ODBD Notable Notes pattern paper. I embossed it with turquoise embossing powder. A keyboard is at the bottom of the card.
I greatly appreciate any views and comments on my card!

Bev, this is breathtakingly awesome! Such a beautiful design and so perfectly executed. But my favorite part about it is the colors! Come on. I would NEVER think to use turquoise and purple here. I would be using black and silver or something totally boring. You rocked this challenge, my friend!

I have a couple of the ODBD hymns and that is one that I have thought of adding to my collection, it is indeed a lovely hymn. Beautiful colours, Bev, a tone-poem all by themselves.

The turquoise is so pretty here..I love the swirls and the keyboard. I agree with you about some of those old hymns....I can get teary eyed when hearing those, too.

such a sweet card. I, too, love the old hymns and feel sad our youth are not going to remember them. We need revival on that one, too...Thanks for putting this card out there...it has sparked many memories.
