Jean is our hostess this week for the Troubled Waters Teapot Tuesday challenge. She's provided us with a beautiful picture by Gaugin for inspiration; I'd love to revisit the picture, but for this I just took the warm colours from it for my fairy. I've already sent this to Vicki. It's the card that preceded my Post-It Note fairy card - the starry fairy mask that I used on that was the leftovers of this. This was hard to get a good photo - one that showed the shiny stars lost the lovely outline of the foliage. You know how it goes...
Background sponged with distress inks - chipped sapphire, wilted violet, stormy sky, salty ocean.
TCW stencil laid over with the mask still in position and I used gold spray paint for the stars.
Add a sentiment from Verve's New Mercies, and foliage from TCP's Winter Style, stamped in gold, then with bronze and gold Perfect Pearls dusted over and finally outlined in white.
Image coloured with Polychromos pencils, SN clear glitter on wings. The foreground wings are cut out as far as her dress, and popped up on foam after shaping, with a second stamped and coloured pair stuck underneath.
Added Stickles, then edged the card front with narrow double-sided tape and buffed assorted colours of glitter on.

I am first drawn in by that sentiment--perfect--but now, the card--just so beautifully done with rich details and wonderful colors. You are one of the most artistic and thoughtful people I know, Sabrina.

My goodness Sabrina! You astound me with your creations and this one is tops! This fairy is so gorgeous and has a very comforting feel to her as well- kind of like a "Fairy Godmother Fairy." The background you created is truly magical! This card is so gorgeous and feels comforting and hopeful too. I know sis Victoria will adore this gorgeous fairy card you made for her. ~Karen.

I love so many things about this card. I love the beautiful fairy and how you did her wings, the beautiful sponged background, but most of all I love the glittery edging!
