Toni is our hostess for this week's WTUI challenge, which you will be able to find HERE once it's gone live.
It was a little bit of a challenge for me (which is good, isn't it!)), but I'm happy with the card I ended up with. I looked at both the sites Toni gave links to, and was inspired by this quote from the first site: "Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things."
- Robert Brault. I was especially pleased with my idea of using Enamel Accents to give them tiny little bulbous eyes. If the ability to view attachments in older posts had been fixed, I'd have linked to the photography challenge thread where I shared a photo of the pottery seahorse my dad made me - but it appears that it's still broken :-(. Anyway, it was just to say that I love seahorses...
DOX sponged on and spritzed (broken china, salty ocean, mermaid lagoon). Twisted citron for stamping IO CAC wavy lines. MB seahorses cut from watercolour paper and sponged with wild honey , fossilized amber, vintage photo. Enamel accents for eyes with a dot of black. Joanna Sheen seaweed sponged with lucky clover. Sentiment from an old Flourishes set (humming along), stamped in Versafine Deep Lagoon.

Sabrina, your sentiment says it all! I was totally getting lost in this magical underwater scene you have created. A couple of minutes later I managed to pull my eyes away and I read your wonderful sentiment. Perfect! And yes, the little things truly are the big things in life, and you captured that brilliantly with this fabulous scene. I would love to see the sea horse your father made- when you have a chance. I think that is amazing he made one! ~Karen.
Sabrina, this is so gorgeous!!! I love the framing with lots of white space. Your seahorses are gorgeous and I know they are super fun with the glassy eyes! I love that stuff!

Marvelous! Love the background for the cute seahorses, which can be quite little. The colors are excellent. Love the sentiment. Terrific card for the challenge. TFS

This flew straight into my favorites, Sabrina! I love everything about this creation from the background to the colors to the darling sea horses. And your sentiment is beautiful!

Oh, Sabrina, this is beautiful, and I do love the seahorses eyes! Brilliant idea! What a special quote, and what an especially wonderful gift of the pottery seahorse your dad gave you. I have one of the last gifts my dad was to give me (he had hidden it), and I cherish them (they were a small collection of wee teddy bears). Just love holding on to precious memories, right? Hugs and love! xoxo

I believe seahorses are much smaller than people realize (no you cant ride them like the old Aquaman cartoons) so what a great sentiment for those little lovelies....they are so cool!
