I made the background using a fan brush dipped in my Distress Stains and water. I just turned the fan brush side ways to come down the panel. I cut out three layers for the heron. I then decided I would die cut the cattails and stamp the rocks, fussy cutting them. I made a pool of water at the edge of my little bank. I liked the little scene it made.
The heron is watercolored and the cattails and rocks are colored with Copics.
My card is also for today's Free for All challenge. I went with an outdoor scene.

Brenda, your card is fabulous. Love the image of the heron and cattails. Awesome background too. These birds are so big you wonder how they get off the ground. Had one visit our small backyard pond and take half our gold fish one year. Wonderful Father's Day card.

Wow what a great card Brenda! Love your image and beautifully coloured too. We have herons in our local park, its always a joy to see them fishing in the river
