Today's Color Challenge is hosted by Karen B. Barber, an outstanding artist, who selected the color combination of Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach, Crushed Curry, and Pear Pizazz (YAY, she included a green!). Karen's dessert option is to create a pocket card or a pocket on a card.
I used the Penny Black Parade of Flowers stamp to stamp poppy flowers onto a piece of white cardstock. I used Copic Sketch Markers of closely related colors to color the Poppies. After coloring them, I fussy cut them.
I decided I would create a pocket on my card instead of creating a pocket card. "Oh, where is the pocket?", you say. Look closely and you'll see it 2/3 down from the top.
I decided to use a Neat & Tangled Scalloped Cover Plate Die (I call it a frame) to create a pocket. I die cut a piece of white cardstock with the die, leaving the bottom 1/3 uncut, and dry embossed the uncut section with the same die. After removing the die cut pieces from the frame, I had a pocket at the bottom in which I could insert my floral stems. I then sponged Antique Linen ink around the border of the frame. To have room to slip my floral stems into the pocket, I added foam adhesive around the frame and attached it to my card base. I inserted the floral stems into the pocket and adhered the flowers to the upper portion of the frame with either foam tape or glue. I finished the card by stamping a sentiment onto the bottom of the frame.
Thank you very much for viewing my card and leaving a comment!

Oh, Bev, I am so behind in seeing the gallery, but I see why this is the favorite from last week's color challenge! It's absolutely gorgeous with the flowers and your amazing pocket card idea, and I especially love this wonderful Scripture verse, sweet and precious friend! Hugs and love (and are we ready for sunshine -- perhaps not till next week at the earliest - ugh!)! xoxo

I absolutely adore what you did with this color combination, and how your blooms poke out from the amazing die-cut background. Very lovely and interesting design!

Oh my, this is absolutely stunning, Bev. I love poppies and just bought four packs of seeds, hope they take and I get some this season. I really love the colors you chose to showcase these spectacular blooms and the sentiment is such a comfort and inspiration. Lovely work, as always!

Was busy the last two weeks so didn't get to peruse the gallery - your card is a thing of beauty. Love it. Such a wonderful job colouring those flowers.
