I was delighted to see the lovely Lily of the Valley teapot Anita shared with us for this week's May Flowers Teapot Tuesday challenge. My mother always used to use lily of the valley soap, and in honour of her and May Day, when I got home from work today I used a little Diorissimo perfume which I got her not long before she died Not much left in the bottle now!! Sheesh, it's just as well that work means perfume is a rare treat for me because I couldn't believe the price it is nowadays!
Anyway, also as a memory of my mother I had bought this lily of the valley die a couple of years back, so it was perfect to pull out (I have used the same stamp as Polly, and a Scripture verse, on the inside.
The background is a stencil monoprint using Twisted Citron DOX and a Sweet Dixie stencil, and I used the negative of a grass border die-cut to sponge in the grass with a couple of green distress inks.
I cut the flower twice and an extra set of bells, which I shaped with my stylus. Sponged the stems and leaves with DOX inks and assembled them onto the base with a little foam tape, and some SN clear glitter pen to make all the bells sparkle.
I added the birthday sentiment for Eleanor and a little ladybird for a pop of colour, and then it still seemed to call for something else, so I stamped a butterfly on vellum, embossed with gold, and coloured from behind with Sharpies.
If you'd like to join us in making a 90th birthday special, check out the challenge link at the top of my write-up.

Sabrina, this is BEAUTIFUL! I love this die and how you've added some extra cups. Such a beautiful memory of your mom (they are hard to feel, I know -- such love and loss). I know that Eleanor will love this card, and I especially love the beautiful butterfly you've added along with the ladybug! So precious! Hugs, sweet friend! xoxo

This is lovely Sabrina. Your story is touching..my mom likes Lily of the valley too and had them in her wedding bouquet. They smell divine. That background you created looks fabulous behind those flowers. Super pretty card.

What a treasure this card is Sabrina. I am not sure what I love more - these gorgeous lily of the valley flowers or your delightful little lady bug. However, having said this, your bg is ah-mazing! I am so inspired by your work Sabrina. Eleanor is going to be thrilled with this gorgeous card from you! ~Karen.

My first perfume was Lily of the Valley and I still love the scent. It always brings back memories just as it does for you. Love your background, your Ladybird and the butterfly sets it off perfectly.
