When I host the Color Challenge, about every 6 weeks or so, I try to pick pretty colors and a dessert option that will be a bit challenging--especially for me! Well, this week I have outsmarted myself! I chose a one-layer card as the dessert option. I had no idea how difficult that would be for me! I made two cards this week, trying to do the challenge justice. I'm not sure I hit the mark on either of them, but they're growing on me . . . . Anyway, the colors this week are Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry and Tranquil Tide.
I never seem to have a sympathy card when I need one, and at those times I'm usually too sad to make one. So I chose this week to get another card into my stash. This stamp set, Blossoms Abound, is one of the first sets I ever bought, and it is still on its wood blocks. I'm pretty sure I'll keep it forever! I took a photo of the "finished" card before stenciling, just in case I ruined it. I've looked at both, and I think I like this one better.
I kept it really flat, really one layer, no embellishments, just some Nuvo Glitter Brush. However, the CC police are on vacation this week, so if you have a few sequins or gems, etc., on your card, you can still have dessert!

This is such a pretty card Barbara!! I love your soft patterned bg!! The simple sprig of lilacs is so pretty and I can almost smell it. Well done with the one layer.

What a gorgeous card with the lilacs. We always had them in our backyard growing up outside of Chicago! My mom would make beautiful bouquets for the house making it smell fabulous. (Would love a lilac stamp.) Love your stenciling in the bg.
