For the Inspiration Challenge, Carlyle Avenue..there's a lot of very interesting stuff but ultimately, I went w/ THIS. I really liked the gold & the textured look of the wall behind the shadowbox.
To make my card, I started by using an embossing folder on the piece of kraft c/s then I sponged a little of lightning black ink over the high points. I wanted a little more gold, so I also went over it using a metallic gold Prismacolor pencil. Then I used the fringe scissors all along the edges & roughed up the fringe a bit.
All of the dragonflies & daisies were embossed w/ gold & fussy cut. I used Prismacolors on the 2 kraft daisies & left the white one uncolored. The white circular frame was die cut & the flowers added in & under.
Thanks so much for looking. Closeups & the inside are on my blog:The Write Stuff

You always find the coolest inspiration sites and I have to resist the temptation of shopping on them
The background embossed framing on this is awesome, love the frayed edges. Beautiful, Julie!

A gorgeous/elegant card, Julie, with the gold embossed bg and all the texture. You've added so many beautiful details to look at - what a striking card!
