I created this card for this week's Color Challenge hosted by our lovely Pam MacKay. Pam chose Stampin' Up! (SU) So Saffron, Marina Mist, and Pear Pizzazz for her color combination. These colors are a gorgeous combination (thanks Pam). Pam's "dessert option" is to create an Easter or spring card.
I have a gorgeous rose bush that is in bloom with big, beautiful roses this year. Thus, I decided to create a spring card with roses for the challenge. I stamped the Penny Black Crimson Rose stamp at various angles onto a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock. I then selected copic sketch markers that closely match the challenge colors to color the roses.
Afterward, I used the old SU Spritzer and So Saffron Marker to spritz ink over the card and added Nuvo crystal drops and sequins. Then I used a light blue copic marker around the flowers and edges. This and the spritzed So Saffron ink gives the card a pinkish color in the white space. I do not know what caused that except maybe camera problems.
Stamps: Penny Black Crimson Rose Stamp, Heartfelt Creation Uplifting Scriptures
Ink: Copic Sketch Markers, SU So Saffron Marker, Black Ink
Paper: Neenah Solar White Card Stock, SU Marina Mist and So Saffron Card Stock

These blue and yellow roses are so incredibly striking and make for such a gorgeous card Bev! I am truly impressed you have rose bush blooming in your yard, and how neat that served as your inspiration. I have a true fondness for roses and these are particularly beautiful the way you have colored them. Thank you for reminding me to stamp one stamp multiple times on a page to get the image I want. You sure made an incredibly gorgeous card with this week's colors Bev. Blessings! ~Karen.
