It is an immense pleasure to case a card of Karen's (Art Deco Diva), the Featured Stamper for this week! She is the most kind and caring individual, and her artwork is outstanding. Congratulations, Karen, for being the Featured Stamper this week; a recognition you so deserve!
The only similarity between our cards is the gorgeous Hero Arts Cardinal. Her card includes different colors, embossing, and stamp. To create my card, I stamped with VersaMark ink the Gina K Designs grouping of trees and heat embossed them with a sparkly embossing power. I sponged Gina K Designs blue ink to create the sky and snow banks (which are difficult to see). I die cut this piece at an angle with an oval die.
Subsequently, I cut a piece of white card stock and dry embossed it with an old Sizzix Impressions Plate. I covered the dry embossed piece with VersaMark Ink, spread a sparkly embossing powder over the piece, and applied a heat gun. Unfortunately, it's difficult to see both. IRL, it is quite sparkly.
I die cut the center of the dry and heat embossed panel with an oval die at an angle. I attached this piece to the card base and placed the tree scene within the oval. I die cut several eyelet ovals and attached them over the original die cut oval. The rest is self-explanatory.
Again, congratulations, sweet Karen!!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

P.S. I am submitting this card for the January 2018 Christmas Challenge.

Bev, what an amazingly lovely winter card you have created. The white trees stand out bright and crisp against the red of your robin and frame. Beautiful!

What a glorious winter cardinal you've crafted Bev! Just one layer of those techniques would have made a card I would have been proud of and you just stacked them layer on layer! I am seriously impressed! Love the embossed trees and snowy hills through the oval. Mr. Cardinal looks right at home surrounded by sparkly snowflakes and perched on a pine bough. What a great tribute to Karen this is!

Love that bird, Bev - I think the HA cardinal is the best one on the market. I wish I had gotten that one. Your scene through the opening is fabulous and I love the evergreen sprigs too - gorgeous!
