Well, this doesn't look like it came from the forest, does it? LOL! However, this is a brand new digital stamp set, and (as you might well guess) Marcella Hawley has added some things we might find in a forest...a vintage pinecone ornament (do you remember those? I love them!), a tiny pumpkin, a pomegranate ornament among poinsettia leaves, and some berries (and did you see that wee bow?). I thought about how I would color this, and nothing came together in my mind! So (as often happens) I just started coloring and ended up using some vintage pastel colors that came to mind from my childhood. I uncovered this soft plaid paper that seemed to work, and I quickly colored it and used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment. I used a cross-stitched die and matted it with the plaid on a Primrose Pink card base. Of course, it still didn't look finished, so out came my sequins. Does anyone else have a problem finding the right colors? I finally found several that I added, and it was done. Voila...and a sigh of relief! I am always glad when I finish a card, and I sure need to make a lot more Christmas cards. I can hardly believe how quickly time has flown by.
Thank you so much, as always, for taking a closer look. And I always love your thoughts...perhaps some colors you would have used? (Just wait till you see Allison Cope's colors...a perfect inspiration.)
I hope you have a beautiful day and week ahead. Hugs, sweet friends! (For more chat, visit my blog.)
