The Clean and Simple Challenge this week, CAS451 - One Word - 10/16/17, was to use a one word sentiment on a paper project.
This card came together quite quickly only because I had leftover parts and pieces from an anniversary card that I made a couple of days before. It was a lazy luxury to have these on hand, and it reminds me how nice it is to make “extras” of watecolored pieces for quick cards!
Nothing particularly unusual about this card, other than repurposing old, unused linen cross stitch fabric as a background layer. I have always liked the texture and rustic color of natural linen and thought it would be fun to pair with the sloppy watercolored leaf fronds.
The tricky part of using the linen fabric is successfully adhering it to the card front without having the adhesive show. After experimenting with several glues, I finally settled on using a new Craft Tacky Glue made by Tonic Studios. This is an amazing product! The glue is white, super thick and dries clear. None of that is unique, what is different is the super skinny tip that extrudes the finest line of Tacky Glue that is sticky enough to work on the fiber of the linen, it also worked well to glue the leaves on the die cuts. Two thumbs up on this new product!
Thanks for stopping by to look at my fall ferns one word card. Happy autumn to you!
