Well, it's time for me to get into high gear for Christmas, and what a great way to start. I definitely needed some motivation, and this beautiful image even had me using my colored pencils again. Yay! This floral array just seems so classic and traditional, so I decided to use the entire image and make a card with designer paper and a die. I sponged the focal image while still in the die, and then I used a gold pen on the edges and added some enamel dots.
Truly, the most fun was the day I colored using pencils. I am still a "rookie," but I have watched a couple of the videos by Alyce Keegan at Kit and Clowder. I started with the darkest color and used a light hand, moved to the next lighter color, and eventually burnished the colors with a white or other very light color to get a smooth blend. Pencils definitely take longer, but I find it very relaxing and satisfying. I'm sure my doctor would definitely prescribe coloring for me. Ha!
Thanks so much for taking a closer look at my Christmas card! I sure need to make more. Have a beautiful rest of the week...and may we all continue to pray for those affected by the hurricanes and the horrific tragedy in Las Vegas...my heart just aches for so many! Hugs!

I saw the post for this stamp on FB and was drooling - seeing what you’ve done with it has not stopped the drooling - FABULOUS coloring and it looks so nice on that die cut panel.

Cheryl this is stunning! I love your coloring. I haven't used my pencils in a while either and was never great with them. I soon watch some videos as I love your poinsettia. Thanks for sharing your colors,

Oh my goodness sis, this is so incredibly beautiful. I have been sitting here for the longest time admiring your fabulous colouring Cheryl (one of my favourite things about being a girl is we are never too old to love colouring). This is beautiful beyond words. I love this to bits, and you too sweet sis.

Oh my Cheryl, this is a beauty and you have inspired me to get my pencils out. I do remember how relaxing it was. I love how you did the shading along with the gold around the edges ... beautiful work sweet lady.
