This is for Misti's fun CAS challenge to use plaid. I said that in my bestest American accent, we just call it tartan here.
Using my MISTI, I stamped the image directly on to the card. First I used sepia Versafine, it wasn't dark enough so I restamped it using ground espresso Distress Ink.
Next I coloured her skin with Prismacolour pencils, then I did her dress with a Spectrum Noir marker. Her hat and hair were coloured with an aqua pen and various distress inks. I also added a few swishes of SN markers.
The sentiment and stenciled dots are done with ground espresso Distress Ink. Lastly I added a tartan scarf and matching headband on her hat.
I was so pleased with this until I opened the card....it looks like a dogs breakfast inside. I was so intent on making my card CAS that I forgot the alcohol markers would bleed through.....after I have a lay down from making a CAS card, I will decorate the inside.
Thank you very much for looking.

Susie, Susie, Susie, this is incredible. I have that image and I don't recall her having a dress, but since I've never inked her maybe it will be a pleasant surprise on day when I let her out of her box. Lol. I love your tartan or American accent. I love the colors you used. Your cards are always so impressive.

Susie, your card is just oozing with understated elegance! What a Perfect image to go with your sentiment! I think that the coloring that you chose is rich yet subtle enough to not outshine the message. It's really powerful! Way to go girl!!! Love it!

Her dress looks like soft suede! The hat band and little neck tie were a super easy to add plaid details, beautifully done. Hmm, to me with a Scots grandad who proudly wore a kilt, plaid was very specifically the long straight piece of tartan which they wore over their shoulders, and yes, the pattern is tartan to me too, I think. What a great CAS card , Susie.

I love everything about this card Susie; from this gentle woman to the strong message this sentiment conveys. I really thought her dress was cut from dsp until I read your description. I am super impressed with every little detail that is so thoughtfully put into this wonderful CAS card. I always appreciate cards that come through the gallery that have a strong empowerment message for women because I think we can forget just how strong we really are. And the way you color hair blows me away! Thank you for making this card and inspiring so many of us with it's beauty and strong message. Hugs! ~Karen.
