This is for Polly's terrific mixed media challenge - to use "text"from a book, magazine, etc and then die cut it and use on your card. I am also popping this into the very first MISTI Monday challenge. For all the details for the MISTI challenge click MISTI Monday August 2017 by MISTI Monday at Splitcoaststampers
The background was done using distress inks and the Smack & Squirt technique and blending. Smack distress ink pad onto aluminium foil, squirt on a lot of water, then use a foam blending tool and scrub it on to the card panel. Build up the colour by drying the cardstock with a heat gun before adding more colour.
Once dry, I did the border stamping using MISTI, this was a fun technique! I then coloured the weirdo girl with Prismacolour pencils and a dash of Copic marker over the top. She was stamped onto photo-copy paper, coloured, then fussy cut.
I used text from a cookbook and die cut a little fence and a pair of gumboots.
Thanks for looking, I hope you all have a happy, inky weekend.

Terrific card, Susie. I like how your "free-spirit" girl so well illustrates your sentiment. Expert use of literally a "rainbow of colors" for the entire card. Your cards are always a stand-out for their design and execution.

------------------------------ We as people are raindrops of colorful ink , falling down Crisp and Clear, each a different shade more vibrant then the last, but once we realize at the bottom of an endless abyss we all fall into the same inkpot forming one color, only then can we come together as one My son.

*Giggle* my thought has always been to make sure my pink wellies matched my coat when going out for messages - truly *giggle* I love the whole outfit. One day I shall be brave enough to have an outfit like this. If you haven't seen the movie with Sally Fields, Hello My Name is Doris, DO! You'll understand my statement when you see it. I cried in the end. Of course I cry easily (she laughs).
