Lisa's (Shoe Girl) WTUI Challenge, WT646, for this week is, "Let's Warm It Up". The heat that a lot of the US is experiencing is the impetus for Lisa's challenge. Therefore, she wanted to see "hot" cards.
The beautiful Bird of Paradise flower came to mind for the challenge as it requires a good amount of sunlight (i.e., hot). Therefore, the ODBD new Bird of Paradise stamp and matching die were used for my card.
My card has no layers; it's a card base that I die cut a border at an angle along the card front. Then I stamped and colored the Birds of Paradise and sponged various inks onto the card front and inside of the card to create a landscape scene. Then I stamped, colored, and die cut two Birds of Paradise and attached them to the front with double-sided foam tape.
P.S. For clarity, the card truly has no layers. It started as an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of WHITE card stock that I folded in half (i.e., A2 card size.) to determine the center. I unfolded the card, laid the HC die at an angle across the front of the card, and run it through my die-cutting machine to create the border on the card front. The border is not a separate piece that was attached to the front.

Oh my goodness this is amazing! I love the die cut and love that you carried the image over to the die cut. Love the flowers and the incredibly stunning scene you created. Amazing card. Thank you so much for playing along in the challenge and bringing this beauty.

Wow Bev! What a stunning scene you've created here! I love how the flowers cascade and the design flows into the inside of the card! That fancy border is a great element too!! Beautifully done! HUGS

Love your card...so pretty. CLEVER on the die-cut edge of your cardbase itself and how the sentiment pops through at the top. Love your Bird of Paradise...beautiful coloring!
