On our inspiration site today we were inspired by each other Ā– selecting from past cards that Audrie has pinned to an inspiration board. Thank you Audrie, for your inspiration and encouragement every week Ā– you are a gem!!!
I was inspired by HelenĀ’s concept of a lovely flower framed with foliage and bold colors in this set of ATC cards here: IC545 - Shocking Pink and Orange by helekins at Splitcoaststampers I went a different route in terms of the technique, flower and layout. Thanks Helen, for the inspiration!
I rubbed the yellow and orange inks on a craft mat, spritzed them with water and lay/dragged my wc card stock through the ink till I liked the results. After drying, I white embossed some flowers, and then I stamped some more of the flowers - in black this time - masking off my main flower. Then I used the Ā“ghostingĀ” technique, which in this case is that I went back in with clear water on my paintbrush and wet the main flower, some smaller leaves and flowers, and around the outside of the flower partially hidden behind the main one, and then dabbed those areas with a paper towel to remove some of the ink (hence the Ā“ghostingĀ”). My first time with this technique, usually it is done with a stencil or stamp, but I chose to just use my paintbrush. I like the added depth it creates. Splattered with diluted inks of the same colors along with white acrylic paint, embossed the sentiment strip, matted and assembled.
