The Ways to Use it Challenge for this week, WT599 Hello! - 9/1/16, was to make a card with the word hello on it. Sounded like a worthy challenge and I knew I had a few "hello" stamps in my stash. Wowzer! I discovered I had MORE than a few, way more than I remembered having. This challenge is one that inspired me to get some ink on a few of my underutilized stamps.
The hello stamp that really caught my eye was this one from an retired SU set called Happy Greetings. It's one I bought years ago from my demonstrator after the set retired...all this time it was in the drawer unused, unloved and totally forgotten. Until today! How fun it was to discover this triple hello greeting in old fashioned looking fonts. It was the starting point for this card.
The way this card came together is kind of funny. No way did I plan to use a cow & calf stamp as the main image....and the rejects on mywork table testifies to that! Ha...this sweet image of a mama Angus cow licking her calf was in a discard pile I have of things I've stamped that were less than perfect but too good to toss. (Please tell me you do this, too!).
Anyway, I was able to trim the cow panel down to a size that allowed me to tuck the sentiment tag into the space right above the calf. My goal in doing this was to finish the visual triangle of the cow and calf....hopefully it worked!
I kept the color scheme simple and added a layer of Lost Lagoon to ground the images and repeated the color as part of the sentiment. A brush of Wink Of Stella clear glitter in the grass added a bit of sparkle to finish the piece.
Thanks for stopping to look at my hello cow card!

This image would fit in perfectly around here. Lots of Cows and Calves - lots of Ranches! It is such a sweet image and your triangle plan did work nicely!
